Owyhee school construction proceeds; district seeks roughly $9–9.5 million for phase two

Clayton Anderson updated the committee on the Owyhee combined school construction project and said phase 1 is progressing well.
"Most of the school's structural steel has been placed. The exterior walls are being framed. Second-floor concrete is poured. Roof is being installed. Electrical, plumbing, HVAC — so they're all starting to move forward installing their equipment," Anderson said, summarizing on-site progress. He added the district is collaborating with the tribe on utilities and potential matching donations to enable a second phase of the project.
Phase 2 would include a career and technical education (CTE) building, parking, a transportation building and fueling facilities; Anderson said the district estimates the additional funding need at approximately $9 to $9.5 million. He emphasized the district will not begin bid or procurement steps for phase 2 until that funding is in hand.
