Board removes broad 'data processing facility' use from zoning ordinance

"Ultimately, mister Dean made a motion to repeal data processing facility from section 3 dash 4 to c and 3 dash 5 u, 4 dash 10.6, and article 10 of the zoning ordinance," the staff member said, and the planning commission recommended removal by a unanimous vote.
At the board meeting supervisors discussed the effect of removing the vague definition from the ordinance — staff explained that removal will mean the existing allowance for such facilities in commercial and industrial districts is no longer present until a replacement definition and permit scheme are adopted. A board motion to accept the planning commission recommendation passed unanimously; staff said the commission will consider the new-definition proposal at its next meeting in two weeks.
