During deliberations on the proposed ballot measure, one commissioner argued at length that a mill levy may not be the best way to address road and park revenue needs and urged the commission to pursue alternative revenue streams and legislative solutions. The commissioner warned that visitor traffic is contributing to road wear, saying the county is being "loved to death by people outside the county."
