Commission backs support for water-rights application tied to mining uses in Butte Valley

The Elko County Commission conducted a public hearing under the Nevada open-meeting statutes to receive citizen input on application 94800And83, a Nevada Division of Water Resources filing by Granikin proposing to appropriate 100 acre-feet annually from the Butte Valley Hydrographic Basin to support mining exploration, drilling, dust control, road construction and a gravel pit.
