Sheriff Danos: expanded ALICE training planned for Cochise County schools

Sheriff Mark Danos said the county is renewing ALICE active-shooter training for schools as the new academic year approaches, with a goal to "hit every single school" through community-outreach efforts. He said Sergeant Davidson is coordinating presentations with local schools and that Sierra Vista Police will help provide train-the-trainer instruction.
Danos said a planned ALICE certification week is scheduled for the first week of September at the Rotary Center and emphasized aligning educators and law enforcement "on the same sheet of music" for response protocols. He added the county has trained a large number of residents to date (the transcript citation was "about 15, 16000 people trained in Cochise County").
