Board approves initial labor agreement with Operating Engineers Local 3 for dispatch staff
Elko County approved an initial labor agreement with Operating Engineers Local 3 covering employees at the county regional communication center (term 07/01/2024–06/30/2027); union representative Phil Herring thanked staff and said employees were rolled into county employment under the new contract terms.

County staff explained that after the Central Dispatch Administrative Authority disbanded, the county took over dispatch operations and preserved terms of the existing contract for the first year while negotiating an initial agreement with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 3. The proposed contract integrates dispatch staff into the county compensation system while maintaining many prior terms, staff said.
