Members discussed using Career and Technical Education (CTE) funding or local grants to support similar student-run programming. The board also said KRXI and KTVN staff offered access to open racks and ASI/fiber feeds, which could allow the district to receive studio-quality signals directly rather than relying on over-the-air reception. "We can get them where they're in the studio and being monitored and taken care of on a daily basis," a technical committee member said.
Staff said the next steps include exploring fiber routing from the broadcaster locations to the switch data center and pursuing partnerships to add more Nevada content to the schedule while keeping PBS and other public broadcast relationships intact.
