Board hears updates on Ruby Vista site, modular building foundations and site engineering

District staff and the on-call engineer told the board that the Ruby Vista project planning is progressing: plot plans and building layouts are complete, plumbing and electrical vendors have provided input, and civil drawings/estimates are being prepared.
The on-call engineer described groundwork and HVAC/electrical coordination at the Vista site and said the plot plan revealed a smaller fenced yard than the leased area; staff will explore fencing to encompass the full leased property. For modular buildings, the engineer said the county building official approved a post-and-beam option that avoids a full 36-inch frost wall, which should reduce excavation and concrete costs — "we could do a post and beam and just anchor to the rock," he said, and that approach should reduce logistics and expense.
Staff signaled they will go to bid for paving and some outside work while handling in-house tasks where feasible and will return with contractor cost estimates. The board approved the engineering report and asked staff to continue refining bids and site plans ahead of summer construction.
