Sheriff's office says camera trailers used at county fair; ALPRs not activated
A sheriff's office representative told the board the Fair used five camera trailers at high-traffic areas this year to deter crime and aid response, and that automated license-plate-reader (ALPR) technology was not activated on those cameras.

A representative speaking on behalf of Sheriff Caprice Massey told the board that investigation and incident-management staff deployed five camera trailers to monitor high-traffic areas at the Washington County Fair. The speaker said the cameras supported safety by deterring crime, aiding incident response and helping locate missing children; the speaker added the command post monitored the feeds throughout the event.
