South Bend council backs joining regional creative-district application

"There there isn't a cost to the application," Dorn said, and he added that once approved the designation can help arts venues access grant programs and modest startup funds for signage and promotion.
Council members asked for examples from other communities and Dorn referenced materials from Long Beach and other towns that had completed applications. After discussion the council moved, seconded and voted in favor of supporting the application; the council recorded the motion as carried by voice vote.
