Board approves $118 total coroner fee for 2025
The Vernon County Board of Health voted to increase the coroner fee for 2025 to $89 for cremation plus $29 for signing (total $118) after reviewing August coroner statistics and anticipated mileage increases.

During its Sept. 11 meeting the Vernon County Board of Health approved a coroner fee increase to take effect for the 2025 cycle. Health Officer Amy Kleiber presented August coroner statistics on behalf of the coroner, reporting 24 deaths in August, 19 cremations and eight burials; monthly coroner income was listed as $2,727 and monthly bills were $3,181.10.
