Commissioners press Road Commission on scaled-back millage plan; engineers to return with alternatives
Board members raised concerns that the Kalkaska County Road Commission's proposed facility in a new millage request included excessive features; Hobbs & Black Engineers were asked to prepare alternative, reduced plans for reconsideration.

Commissioners David Comai and David Persons, accompanied by a representative from Hobbs & Black Engineers, presented revised structures for a previously defeated Kalkaska County Road Commission millage request. The minutes record that the new design included 38 stalls/equipment bays, 14 overhead doors, multiple meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchens and in-floor heat. Commissioner Robert Baldwin urged county involvement and Commissioner Scott Matley said the Road Commission should reassess needs versus wants to improve voter support.
