Commission approves multiple parcel maps; requires road, hydrant and water improvements

The Lander County Board of Commissioners approved several parcel maps June 12 that will create multiple residential and agricultural parcels in Battle Mountain and require infrastructure improvements before recordation.
Shelby Knott, planning coordinator, described the Emerald Land Company filings as "another parcel map for Emerald Land Company" that creates three new parcels along Emerald Lane and Yellow Brick Road. The board appended conditions carried over from the Planning Commission: recording within one year, installation of fire hydrants per county standards, approval of water lines by the public works director, street lights every 750 feet where required, and that roads be brought up to county payable/paved standards prior to recordation.
Commissioners discussed adding explicit language to require roads be improved to county standards; a motion adopting that language carried on a voice vote. Staff will return final map documentation and confirm public-works approvals prior to recording.
