Lander County approves renewal with Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority

The Lander County Board of Commissioners approved renewal of an interlocal agreement with the Northeastern Nevada Regional Development Authority (NNRDA), effective Jan. 1, 2026, through Dec. 31, 2030, and authorized the chair to sign.
Sheldon Mudd, who identified himself for the record as part of the NNRDA presentation, told the board the regional pipeline was small and that the authority was working to build leads. "I would say, I think last time I counted, we have about 8 or 9 leads region wide, nothing specifically for Lander County at the moment," Mudd said. Commissioners asked about membership and Mudd confirmed participating counties include Lander, Eureka, Elko and White Pine as well as incorporated cities within those counties.
The board approved the renewal motion without extended discussion and thanked the NNRDA representative for the update. Staff noted marketing campaigns and outreach to events such as industry conferences remain part of NNRDA's strategy to build project interest for the region.
