Hearst Free Library outlines spring programs, seed reception and VR training

At the April 13 meeting Director Sam Walters reviewed regular library programming and upcoming events. Walters listed ongoing offerings including Story Time, Lego Club, Coding Club, Teen Art and Card program, Girl Scouts and meetings of a High School Leadership Academy; he said the library’s Seed Reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 18 and is funded by the Friends of the Hearst Free Library.
Walters also reported the library’s virtual reality program is operational and that assistant director Patrick Sullivan will travel to Drummond to train Drummond library staff. Trustee Bobbie Frank attended the recent Broad Valleys Federation meeting in Butte and gave trustees a brief report on statewide library challenges. The minutes note a Friends book sale March 20–21 and that AARP volunteers provided free tax-preparation services at the library through April 13.
