Library reports security grant opportunity, new Chromebook and upcoming programs

At the March 10 meeting Alderman Dolan reported library business including $2,200 in tax money collected for December and an increase in circulation. The library installed a new Chromebook in the children’s room and is considering applying for a State of Illinois security grant aimed at upgrading security in response to an increase in threats to libraries and librarians statewide.
Dolan also announced programming: Chair Yoga beginning Thursday, April 2 at 1 p.m. (first Thursday of each month), a presentation on spotting and preventing Medicare/Medicaid fraud on Thursday, April 16 at 1:30 p.m. (signup at the library), and a book club discussion on March 23 from 2–3 p.m.
