Commissioners require three quotes for sheriff's $16,887 AC unit; motion passes 2–1

Sheriff Larry "Ray" Newton sought approval to replace an upstairs IT-room mini-split air conditioner that had failed; he said the prior unit was believed to be 15 years old. The board reviewed a Havel Brothers quote for $16,887. Commissioner Chad Aker asked that three quotes be obtained because county policy requires competitive pricing; Sheriff Newton said the existing service agreement with Havel Brothers would cover work on equipment purchased from that vendor.
