Mark Clark of RubinBrown presented a NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) assessment of the Ottawa County courthouse that identified 103 security requirements and listed eight recommendations, among them hiring a full- or part-time information-technology staffer to address gaps. Emergency Management Director Marie Ballou said the assessment was provided through Homeland Security at no cost to the county and that a risk-management meeting will review the recommendations.
Clark summarized observed practices and the consultants' prioritized recommendations. Commissioners asked procedural questions about next steps and agreed staff will convene the risk-management meeting to develop a response plan and staffing options before formal budget requests are made.
