Board signs Ranch Manager contract; Rodgers Ranch, R-Farm expansion moves forward
Summary

The Board unanimously approved the Ranch Manager employment agreement (term Dec. 1, 2025–June 30, 2026) after a motion by Jim Bingham, seconded by Cody Lamb. The contract authorizes the district to staff and manage Rodgers Ranch activities and related experiential learning at the R-Farm storefront.
Superintendent Miguel Barriga and staff reported increased student involvement at Rodgers Ranch, plans to assemble a small working group in January to develop a comprehensive farming plan, and steps to incorporate the plan into the campus Master Plan. Chief Business Official Diana Davisson provided a quarterly ranch financial update (noting checks cashed and cash-flow timing); the Board also discussed storage, marketing links to R Farm House sales and the need for better coordination with community partners.
Why it matters: the ranch program is both an instructional pathway and a revenue/enterprise project for CUHSD; approving the manager contract and continuing planning sets the district up to expand hands-on CTE and community-facing sales activities.
