Lab staffing returns to full complement; replacement chemistry analyzer planned

Violet (V. Shimek) reported the laboratory is fully staffed for the first time in many years and has been supporting the community health fair by providing blood draws. She said the recent CLIA survey in November 2025 produced minor findings that were corrected during the visit and that the department plans to replace the aging chemistry analyzer this year so Vitamin D testing can be performed in-house.
Board Member Jim Roberts asked whether the new analyzer would be acquired through a lease-to-own arrangement; Violet clarified the purchase would be a capital acquisition. The lab team is also working with HIM coding staff to reduce claim denials and improving prior authorization processes to streamline patient access to services.
