Council moved into closed session to discuss DPW labor-union negotiations and returned with a motion to ratify the Technical, Professional and Office Workers (TPOW) of Michigan, City of Alpena Department of Public Works employee proposal dated July 27, 2026. The motion authorized City Manager Smolinski to finalize the contract and authorized the mayor to sign; the ratification is effective Aug. 4, 2026.
