DeWitt County OKs dispatch HVAC, sheriff’s carpeting and landscaping contracts

At its Oct. 23 meeting the DeWitt County Board approved multiple facility and maintenance contracts affecting the sheriff’s office and county buildings.
The Board approved a bid from LS Mechanical for $10,234 to replace the HVAC system in the dispatch center and equipment room (motion by Ferguson, second by Prestegaard). It also approved purchasing additional carpet and materials for the sheriff’s front desk reception area from Wall to Wall Flooring for $6,350 (motion by Ferguson, second by Hammer), and a Trimble Plumbing bid to complete a hardscape/landscape project for $9,998.95 (motion by Ferguson, second by Walters). All votes were recorded Aye by Hammer, Prestegaard, Walters, Werts, Witte, Carter and Ferguson.
Carter reported the Public Safety committee approved a bid from Trimble Plumbing to bury downspouts at the Animal Shelter; those committee minutes are filed with the county minutes. The Board’s votes at the Oct. 23 meeting formalized the larger set of facilities expenditures described in committee reports.
