The DeWitt County Board on Oct. 23 approved decommissioning plans and complaint-process plans for two proposed solar developments, Revere Road Solar LLC and Madison Street Solar LLC.
The motions — each moved by Commissioner Ferguson and seconded by Commissioner Carter — cited county code section 157.08(C) for decommissioning and section 157.15 for complaint procedures. Voting was recorded as Aye: Hammer, Prestegaard, Walters, Werts, Witte, Carter and Ferguson; motions carried unanimously. The Board also voted to pay all bills as part of the same meeting agenda.
Board members framed the approvals as permitting-related compliance steps; no conditional amendments or recorded no votes were entered. The approvals place the two decommissioning plans and the complaint procedures on the county record as part of the projects’ local permitting files.
Clerk’s office records show Farmer City forwarded a supplemental resolution protesting the Santa Anna solar project earlier in the meeting, and a resident spoke against that proposed project during public comment. The Board did not take action on the Santa Anna project during the Oct. 23 meeting.
