Commission asks staff to swap broadband map for PSC data, dates data tables and fix legends

During line-by-line review commissioners identified multiple data and map issues and asked staff to correct sources and legends before the plan is finalized. Members agreed to replace an internal branded cellular-coverage graphic with an authoritative Public Service Commission (PSC) broadband-coverage map, to date tables such as daycare listings, and to add clearer legends (e.g., elevation as feet above mean sea level) and page references.
Marcy West and other reviewers highlighted where color choices on district maps made boundaries hard to distinguish and recommended adding source citations for maps (e.g., NRCS, DNR, FEMA). A planning staff member confirmed that the county will source a PSC map, clarify citation text in map captions and add dates to data tables so readers can understand when data were current. "Maybe using the latest PSC... would identify better coverage areas for the County," a participant said when recommending the swap.
These technical edits were approved for incorporation; staff will update map legends, swap the broadband map for the PSC dataset where appropriate, and ensure all appended tables and figures include data-source citations and dates.
