A VDOT representative (speaker 11) gave a detailed quarterly maintenance report: 268 of 290 work orders were completed, leaving 22 outstanding and reflecting a 92.4% completion rate for the period April 1–June 30. The presentation noted common maintenance needs—pothole patching, ditching, pipe repairs—and described an upcoming plant-mix patching contract set to begin the following day.
VDOT also identified larger capital projects in planning and procurement: a Morris Ferry bridge deck project with an anticipated award in September and a Route 58 / I-95 structural replacement that will modify ramps, add vertical clearance, and is expected to be awarded in December 2027. The representative asked the county to provide a letter of support where municipal coordination was needed for right-of-way transfers and signal work.
