Village staff and trustees discussed enforcement options for two problem properties downtown, including notice to appear, one-time or daily fines, court orders to abate nuisances, liens on property and assigning employees to clean properties if insurance permitted. Lane Alster was asked to generate a letter proposing a fine of "$100.00 a day" and a separate abatement letter; trustees indicated support by saying 'all in favor.'
Trustee Terri Baker urged the board to take a stand and follow through, and the board discussed taking photographic evidence of exterior conditions for court proceedings and whether the railroad had been notified about vehicles parked on railroad property.
