LCWM elementary reports safety protocol rollout and student supports

Elementary Principal Beert told the board the school has begun implementing the "I Love U Guys" Standard Response Protocol, has 42 students enrolled in the Backpack Food Program, completed a fire drill Sept. 11, will participate in National Walk & Roll to School Oct. 8, and will start a Club's Choice fundraiser Sept. 22.
Elementary Principal Dan Beert reported several operational and safety initiatives at the Sept. 15 meeting. He said students and staff have begun implementing the "I Love U Guys" Standard Response Protocol to strengthen school safety in partnership with local emergency responders and that a district fire drill was completed Sept. 11 ahead of Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 6).
Beert said 42 students are currently enrolled in the Backpack Food Program and additional enrollment forms are anticipated. He also noted LCWM Elementary will participate in the National Walk & Roll to School on Oct. 8 starting at the Lake Crystal Recreation Center and that the Club's Choice fundraiser will kick off Sept. 22. He thanked the board for its support during School Board Appreciation Month.
