He said he is "very concerned about the condition of district athletic fields and playground areas that are dependent on water for maintenance."
Staunton told the board he will share possible solutions and grants with Superintendent Glen Szymoniak, including options to convert grass fields to turf to reduce irrigation needs. He pointed trustees to more information on the Bureau of Reclamation website and the Klamath Water Users Association office for technical details about the operation plan.
