Board approves change to directory information policy to add grade-level and school attended as opt-out items
Following counsel review of an OAR change, the board updated policy JOA to include "most recent school attended" and to treat grade level and photographs as opt-out items on annual registration, aiming to reduce FERPA risk while preserving student celebrations.

Board members reviewed a proposed update to Policy JOA (directory information) after state administrative rule changes required the district to reassess what student directory items it releases. Staff told the board they consulted legal counsel and the Oregon School Boards Association and recommended adding grade level and photographs to the opt-out list; they also restored "most recent school attended" to the directory list with appropriate opt-out language.
