Administration described campus-specific priorities, identified subpopulations (Hispanic, economically disadvantaged, emergent bilingual, special education), and the essential actions to be resourced. "If we stay the course, research is clear that when you do these things...you are going to move the needle on student achievement," the superintendent said.
The plans include use of high-quality instructional materials: Eureka Math for K-5 math and Amplify (or the district TEKS resource system) for reading at K-5 (with Carnegie and Savvas noted at 6th grade). Administrators also described grant applications (instructional leadership and PLC grants under the LASSO umbrella) and existing Title funding as layering additional supports. Trustees asked about parent engagement, attendance and staffing stability; principals described localized parent outreach and bilingual supports. The board voted 6-0 to approve sending the TIPs to TEA as required by the state's ESSA identification process.
Why it matters: the plans trigger state-required submission to TEA and unlock targeted supports (Region 10 partnership, coaching, grant opportunities) intended to accelerate student growth at campuses with higher needs.
