Three beaches retested after samples show bacteria over limits; closures possible

"We got a notification that 3 of the beaches, were over the, limits," the director said, and staff immediately drew follow‑up samples the next morning and sent them to the lab. The director said if the second set of results again exceed the limits the department would close the affected beaches — two public beaches and one private beach — until the water meets standards.
Board members said staff should post notices, coordinate with conservation and recreation officials, and use town digital signage and web channels to notify residents if closures become necessary. The board did not take further action at the meeting pending the follow‑up lab results.
