Tatum ISD board adopts canvass; Proposition A declared passed

The Tatum Independent School District Board of Trustees on Nov. 8, 2024 adopted an order canvassing the returns of a voter-approval tax ratification election and declared Proposition A passed.
Mr. Brandon Milam, Assistant Superintendent of Finance, read the election totals to the board, reporting that 817 votes were cast, with 656 in favor and 161 opposed. "Proposition A passed," the minutes record. Board member Matt Crawford moved "that the Board of Trustees adopt the Order canvassing returns and declaring results of voter-approval tax rate election, which is before the Board." Stephen Skinner seconded the motion, and the board approved it by a 5-0 vote.
Board President Everigester Adams, Jr. called the special meeting to order; board members present for the vote were President Everigester Adams, Jr., Secretary Stephen Skinner, Mrs. Kip Amick, Mr. Matt Crawford and Mr. Curt Smith. Vice-President Dennis Williams and Mrs. Erika Smith were listed as absent. Administrators in attendance included Dr. J.P. Richardson, Superintendent, and Mr. Brandon Milam, Assistant Superintendent of Finance.
The meeting record notes there were no public comments. With no further business, the special meeting adjourned at 8:02 a.m. The board's adoption of the canvass formally records the district's certification of the local election results as stated in the minutes.
