Monroe CTE students, instructors to represent district at Lansing showcase

Marrero (presenter) told trustees Monroe High School's construction trades program will represent Career Education Planning District (CPID) 44 at a statewide CTE showcase at the state Capitol in Lansing next week.
"There are actually only 28 programs statewide that are being showcased," Marrero said, and he said the students and staff will speak with legislators about the importance of continued CTE funding. Marrero said he is "super proud" of the students and instructors selected to attend.
Marrero explained the showcase is intended for students and teachers to describe how state support affects hands-on CTE programs and to encourage lawmakers to sustain program investments. The board congratulated the instructors and students and was told photos and follow-up materials will be provided after the event.
