Rolling Meadows launches yearlong Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan with CMAP assistance

Maddy Clowse, planner with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), told the Committee that Rolling Meadows received a CMAP Technical Assistance Grant to develop a comprehensive Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The effort will assess gaps in the nonmotorized network and produce data-driven recommendations for infrastructure and policy changes.
Clowse said the process will take about 12 months and aims for the Council to adopt the plan as a Comprehensive Plan amendment in February 2027. CMAP recommended forming a diverse working group of local stakeholders to advise on the assessment and review draft recommendations; staff indicated convening the working group is an informal advisory step that does not require Council action.
