The Altamonte Springs City Commission on June 2 approved on first reading several ordinances that revise portions of the Land Development Code and the Code of Ordinances. The items passed unanimously on first reading and are scheduled for second reading on June 16, 2026 where required.
Ordinance No. 1841-26 revises guidelines for developer's agreements; Ordinance No. 1842-26 modifies the intensity matrix table by adding the Mixed Office Commercial (MOC-1) district to East Town Center and Mixed Office Industrial (MOI-2) to the Regional Business Center future land use category; Ordinance No. 1843-26 and Ordinance No. 1844-26 update definitions and rules of construction to allow the use of a publicly accessible website for legal advertisements and notices and establish a qualified contractor certification review process and revisions to subdivision plat approvals. City Attorney Mary Sneed read each ordinance title into the record before the Commission voted.
Each ordinance received no public comment at the June 2 hearing. Commissioner Reece moved approval of the items on first reading and commissioners seconded the motions as recorded; the Commission set second readings for June 16 where applicable. The actions advance multiple changes to zoning and administrative processes the city says are intended to align local code with new statutory requirements.
