The Comal County Commissioners Court on Oct. 9 approved a proclamation naming Oct. 11, 2025, Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful Day to honor volunteer cleanup and stewardship efforts around Canyon Lake. The proclamation cited the volunteer work of the Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful organization (an affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful), the conservation value of the lake and two metal sculptures funded by a 2021 governor’s community achievement award.
A representative of the Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful board accepted the proclamation and invited residents to join the cleanup on Oct. 11. "It's fun to pick trash," the volunteer said while urging attendees to check the group's website and volunteer. Commissioners adopted the proclamation by voice vote.
