The Rules Committee approved a resolution supporting re-entry employment opportunities for people released from incarceration or substance use treatment. Ms. Genesis Ramos moved the resolution and Ms. Kathy Stegenga seconded; Mr. DeShanda Carter, who introduced the discussion, described the stigma and practical barriers faced by people re-entering the workforce and urged local business owners to hire those in recovery.
