The Howell Public Schools Board of Education voted unanimously June 23 to appoint Heather White to the Howell Carnegie District Library Board of Trustees for a four‑year term expiring June 30, 2029.
The appointment followed a ranked‑choice discussion in which board members assigned 5, 3 and 1 points to their top three candidates. President Tarara announced that in the initial ranking Ms. Hewitt received 26 points, Ms. White 15 points and Ms. Wilson 10 points; a subsequent top‑candidate ranking placed Ms. White first with 27 points. The board then approved the formal appointment in Motion #2025‑079, moved by Ms. Marhofer and supported by Ms. Conn; the vote was recorded as 7‑0 in favor.
Superintendent MacGregor offered congratulations to the appointed candidate. The board closed discussion on the candidate slate by approving Motion #2025‑078 to end deliberation earlier in the meeting.
