Budget committee backs $6,000 for Nevada Outdoor School programs
The Elko County Budget Committee recommended that the County Commission approve a $6,000 donation to Nevada Outdoor School to support youth outdoor programs, helmet distribution and safety training after staff presented reach and program details.

Melanie Urquiaga, representing Nevada Outdoor School, told the committee the nonprofit had reached about 2,600 Elko County students last year through school and park programs and asked the county for $6,000 for FY27 to support local operations and flexible program needs.
