Harrison reports Target development, new retailers and filming in downtown district

City officials updated council on the Harrison Talent Center development anchored by Target and Aldi, named new tenants including 5 Below and Nothing Bundt Cakes, ongoing JTM remodel and Harrison Commons work, and a movie filming in the district Aug. 10–25.
Council heard an economic development update that the Harrison Talent Center (Target) is under construction and that permits are in place for Target and Aldi. Additional announced tenants include 5 Below, Esther Price, and Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Councilwoman Patty Van Cleave also reported on local redevelopment projects — JTM’s full remodel and Harrison Commons exterior delays due to materials — and said a movie will be filmed in the district from Aug. 10–25. She reminded the public that downtown updates, including a gazebo renovation and a community festival (Barbecue, Brews & Bluegrass) on Sept. 12, are forthcoming.
