Staff previews fall programming and upcoming park master-plan milestones

Parks staff reported on programming and planning: the department is completing a five-year update to the 2021–2031 park master plan and anticipates bringing a finished product to City Council in October to discuss funding and scheduling. “We’re doing the 5 year update…Hopefully, by the end of the year, we'll be bringing that to y'all to review and council for approval,” the Staff member said.
Staff also summarized recreation programming: fall adult and coed softball begins September 8, youth programs include roughly 1,100 children currently registered for fall activities, and Harmony at the Harbor concerts resume in October for a four-week series. Staff flagged that funding conversations remain to be scheduled once master-plan deliverables are complete.
