Hiram Village Council voted 6-0 to rezone 11861 Garfield Road from Institutional to Open Space/Conservation and approved an application for a conditional use permit for a single-family attached dwelling after suspending the rules.

Hiram Village Council approved a rezoning and a conditional use permit application for 11861 Garfield Road at its July 14, 2026 special meeting. Ed Frato-Sweeney moved to suspend rules (seconded by Suzann Bennett), and later moved to approve rezoning 11861 Garfield Rd from Institutional to Open Space/Conservation and to accept an application for a conditional use permit for a single-family attached dwelling; Chris Szell seconded the final motion. The vote was recorded as 6-0 in favor.
