Merced County council reports BHSA integrated plan finalized; programs set to launch July 1

Sharon Jones, a BHRS staff member speaking for Behavioral Health & Recovery Services, told the Ongoing Planning Council that the Board of Supervisors approved the BHSA integrated plan for FY 2026'12029 on June 2, 2026 and that the Department of Health Care Services has approved the revisions: "the plan is now final," she said. The county plans to submit the final plan on June 30, 2026 and launch program operations on July 1, 2026.
The council heard that signatures on the certification include the Board of Supervisors and BHRS director Kimiko Vang. Sharon emphasized the expectation that the July 1 launch "may not be perfect," but that all programs listed in the plan will begin then, with implementation and monitoring through the three-year plan window.
