Douglas County Administration Committee approves fee, staffing and capital referrals

The Douglas County Administration Committee met April 2, 2026, in the Government Center Boardroom and approved several motions to refer fee, staffing and capital requests to the County Board or the 2027 budget process. Chair Alan Jaques called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m.; the committee voted to approve the March 5, 2026 minutes and then proceeded through departmental reports and action items.

Major actions included approval of an amended Environmental Health fee schedule to be referred to the County Board; a set of LTE-to-FTE position requests (two social worker/case managers, an Information and Assistance Specialist contingent on ADRC funding, and a Lab/Environmental Health Specialist) referred to the 2027 budget; and capital requests across departments that included $50,000 for wetland mitigation and $750,000 for the health insurance fund. The committee approved year-end 2025 carryovers and reserves and recorded informational updates on Superior Days and ARPA status. Motions were generally moved and seconded by committee members and carried as noted in the minutes.
