The Kay County Board of County Commissioners voted on June 29, 2026 to adopt an Emergency Disaster Proclamation after recent flooding caused damage to public and private property. The motion was made by Commissioner Jason Shanks and seconded by Chairman Jeff Kreger; the district attorney approved the form and the motion carried with both commissioners voting aye.
