Following FEMA Region 5 approval on Jan. 20, 2026, the board unanimously adopted the 2025 Nobles County Hazard Mitigation Plan, the final step to keep the county eligible for future mitigation funding.

The Nobles County Board voted to adopt the county’s 2025 Hazard Mitigation Plan after staff reported that FEMA Region 5 approved the plan on Jan. 20, 2026. Adoption by the county and by municipalities within the county is required for eligibility for future mitigation funding.
