Airport hosts joint fire training and will support Sheriff's tactical training on runway

Director Todd Chatfield briefed the board on recent joint training exercises with local emergency responders.
Chatfield thanked the Fire Department staff and "Chief Fox" for conducting joint training with the airport's ARFF trucks so both teams are familiar with each other's equipment. He also told the board that "the Sheriff's Office will be coming out soon to do Tactical Vehicle Intervention training using our runway," giving deputies space away from obstacles to complete maneuvers and certifications.
Board members expressed appreciation for supporting public safety training and noted the airport's role in providing a secure training area.
