Vernon County awards multiple service contracts in procurement round-up

The Vernon County Commission reviewed sealed bids and approved multiple service contracts during its Dec. 10 meeting. Commissioner Cindy Thompson moved and Commissioner John Shorten seconded motions covering mowing at the courthouse and Katy Allen Lake, fairgrounds mowing, sheriff's office mowing, hay baling, trash hauling for special events, printing of legal notices and the county financial statement, and rock supply; each motion passed unanimously and was entered in the minutes as 'All voted yes to approve.'

Details recorded in the minutes include contract rates: $90 per mowing for the courthouse lawn (Gotschall Greens LLC), $150 per mowing at Katy Allen Lake (Gotschall Greens LLC), $525 per mowing for the Vernon County Fairgrounds and $100 per mowing for the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and jail (G & G Mowing); hay baling at $250 per year (Justin Minor); trash hauling at $515 per month plus $100 per dumpster for special events (DB Disposal LLC); and printing at $7.50 per column inch for legal notices (Nevada Daily Mail). For rock supply, the commission accepted bids from Holiday Sand and Stone and Midwest Minerals; no bids were received for rock hauling.
