Planning Department to present Unified Development Code concerns; training scheduled for board

Staff said the Unified Development Code annual review has closed for public comment; staff will present identified concerns to city council and host a Board of Adjustment training (Planning Commission/Board 101) in the coming weeks.
Charles, planning and development director, told the board the Unified Development Code annual review closed for public comment last Friday and staff will present concerns to City Council in a work session on the 23rd at noon in the council chambers. He also said staff will hold a Planning Commission 101 / Board of Adjustment 101 training for board members covering roles, responsibilities, quorum, ex parte communications and the Wyoming Open Meetings Act. "We do intend to do our planning commission 1 0 1 train our board of adjustment 1 0 1 training," Charles said.
Charles indicated the training is part of an annual effort to refresh boards and commissions and to present a recommended action plan to the Planning Commission on Feb. 17 for potential UDC amendments. No formal board action was required at this meeting on the UDC review; staff requested attendance at the training.
