Two Lancaster County employees asked the commissioners to recognize their union, AFSCME Council 13, and to join a joint request for unit clarification to the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board; Commissioner Alice Yoder said she would review procedures and options.

At the July 22 meeting Danielle Reed, a Lancaster County therapist, read a statement on behalf of herself and case manager Jacelyn Cimino asking the commissioners to recognize their union, AFSCME Council 13, by motion and to join them in submitting a joint request for unit clarification to the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board. The request was presented during the meeting public comments; no motion to act on recognition was recorded in the minutes.
